TowerPinkster Solution

This creative project responds to the needs of students by providing a state-of-the-art learning environment. The educational spaces support the latest in educational technology and incorporate flexible and versatile learning spaces conducive to future changes in curriculum and learning styles. Aside from standard teaching rooms, the school provides a multitude of spaces for a variety of group study and tutoring opportunities. This project is a re-investment into a long-neglected neighborhood with the potential to engage residents and uplift spirits. There is much heart and soul in the neighborhood and as such, this facility speaks to the community in many ways. It provides a “center of community”. The program follows GRPS standards for K-8 facilities, but also incorporates programs in specific response to the requests of the community. A fitness room and health clinic, a laundry, drama room, and tutoring center were provided in response to community input. This facility is also designed to meet LEED® criteria and includes a green “roof garden” for middle school science study.
