TowerPinkster, an architecture, engineering and interior design firm based in Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky, is looking for a talented Electrical Designer to join our team. This position is responsible for providing electrical design solutions which successfully leads to exceeding client expectations. We are looking for a skilled professional with a preference for five plus years in the industry. We are also open to consideration for professionals just beginning their career out of college, and provide training to gain experience. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Provide electrical engineering solutions, design documents, specifications, and project communications. Provide follow through of designs: construction correspondence, observation, punch listing and close out. Design electrical distribution systems, and size generators and equipment, coordinate with our technology team to support data and communication systems, security systems, and technology systems to meet client needs and code requirements. Design fire alarm system layouts. Design lighting and lighting controls layouts and perform calculations for emergency and normal lighting in a space. Learn to select and specify lighting fixtures and design the layouts of lighting and exit signage. Provide assessment of existing building systems and provide client with recommendations on needed maintenance, available savings and/or rebates for upgrades. Provide system design solutions, design documents, specifications, and project communications. All other job duties as apparent or assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required. Ability to achieve Professional Engineers License (P.E.) in the future preferred. Two to five years of professional experience, in A/E/C industry preferred. Revit software experience preferred. Proficient in word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Knowledge of power distribution and associated equipment. Knowledge of lighting technologies and lighting control systems. Knowledge of fire alarm requirements and different type of building requirements. Knowledge of drawing, scheduling, and coordinating design components in 3D drafting software. Knowledge of codes and standards.
