Kalamazoo Public Schools

TowerPinkster designed the renovation of a former elementary school for Kalamazoo Public Schools, converting it into the district’s new centralized kitchen to support the expansion and efficiency of district-wide food service operations. As part of a bond project, the existing facility was repurposed into a centralized food service building providing storage, distribution, production, and catering space for KPS Food Service. The renovation includes expanded freezer and cooler capacity, along with larger food preparation areas to better support daily operations.

The design integrates architecture, interior design, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and technology systems, resulting in a high-performing facility that supports both current operations while allowing for future growth and flexibility.
