Project Manager

Project Managers oversee projects from the conception stage through construction and completion of the project, making sure the project meets design requirements, schedule, contractual obligations and budget goals. This includes understanding the scope of work, planning the work, organizing the team, leading the team and controlling the project. The main responsibilities are project profitability, client satisfaction and business development.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Principal on fee proposals, fee negotiations and project team selection
  • Assist in the development of fees based on task, market, staffing and unit cost
  • Assist in proposal development, including determining project fees, team selection, scope definition, schedule, contracts and interviews
  • Collaborate with Principal to prepare contract
  • Collaborate on design presentations and reviews
  • Collaborate with design team on technical decisions
  • Coordinate outside consultants with owner and project team, including consultant selection, fee negotiation, invoice review and communications
  • Provide expertise in contractual negotiations and production meetings
  • Create Project Management Plan, from project conception to completion
  • Manage project scope relative to contract
  • Track changes in scope, schedule and budget
  • Conduct effective meetings, to include agenda, meeting minutes and progress reports
  • Observe project performance and coordinate workload through the entire project
  • Monitor the project for performance to profit and schedule goals
  • Partner with Principal regarding negotiating additional service fees from clients as they request changes to project scope
  • May, depending on project scope, conduct construction site visits to monitor progress

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture profession, AIA License preferred
  • Ten plus years’ experience in architectural profession and project management
  • Experience inK-12 and/or Higher Education sectors preferred
  • Well-rounded knowledge of architecture profession and workflow
  • REVIT experience/AutoCad software knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of building components, construction materials, standards and codes
  • Business management knowledge preferred
  • Experience in construction administration or knowledge of construction practices

Architectural Designer

Join our team at TowerPinkster and get immersed in a design focused culture! TowerPinkster, an architecture, engineering and interior design firm based in Michigan, is looking for a talented Architectural Designer. This position will compile conceptual and schematic designs, undertake visioning and programming efforts, and set the overall design direction for projects and their detailing. We want you to grow and expand your creativity among our team of talented designers. Other efforts would include producing renderings and 3D visuals to convey design intent. Must have a learning mindset and a willingness to complete different tasks with high energy and passion for design.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work as project Design lead and support on varying scales and project typologies.
• Attend/Lead meetings to set goals and objectives for the project(s).
• Understand project team expectations in Programming, Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Development and Construction Administration.
• Perform the coordination efforts with project team in creation of architectural design documents
• Assist design team and project coordination team in the detailing, model building, and illustration of documents, focused on early design and programming efforts.
• Gain experience in the field learning construction administration.
• Continue to refine design and technical skills.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum four (4) year accredited degree in Architecture.
• Five (5) or six (6) year master’s degree preferred.
• Plan for completion of IDP process preferred, if not yet Licensed
• Minimum of three years of experience postgraduate, five or more years preferred.
• LEED GA or AP accreditation a plus.
• Able to show technical ability in designing and detailing complex solutions.
• Able to sketch and draw comfortably freehand and using technology.
• Use of REVIT with a focus on early design phases and concept modelling.
• Additional rendering or visualization software experience preferred.

Architectural Project Coordinator

This position is responsible for organizing and coordinating the development of construction documents. Technical expertise and experience is used to collaborate with the project team through coordination and quality assurance processes throughout the project. In addition, participate in document and clarification efforts, as well as submittal review and site observation during bidding and construction. This position will act as Architectural Technical Support on large scale projects.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand project manager expectations throughout each phase of the project.
  • Perform the coordination efforts with project designer in translating design into contract documents.
  • Review and understand project scope and contract for professional services.
  • Coordinate project team and through collaboration with all disciplines, lead the development of:

  • Assist in new project set-up
  • Project file set-up, filing and project file archiving

Structural Engineer

The Firm is looking for a skilled professional Structural Engineer with five to ten years of professional experience for our Kalamazoo, Michigan office.
