Commissioning Agent

This position is responsible for Building Systems Commissioning projects to ensure the Owner’s Project Requirements are met throughout the project. Commissioning is a quality assurance service to ensure that building systems work as intended through a systematic, documented, and collaborative process involving peer review, construction observations, functional testing, and training.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Owner’s to develop the Owner’s Project Requirements
  • Development of Commissioning Plans for projects.
  • Provide peer design review of building envelope, plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical systems.
  • Conducting site observations surveys, and preparing field reports on the status of projects and completion of projects with respect to compliance
  • Partners with Clients to advise on problem resolution within the scope of the design.
  • Creating and carrying out test procedures, while diagnosing and troubleshooting faults and repairs.
  • Partner with Contractors for design specifications. Ensure that equipment operates as intended while meeting the Basis of Design and conforming to the Owner’s Project Requirements.
  • Making improvements and offering guidance on operational procedures.
  • Prepares general condition survey reports.
  • Writing reports and creating necessary documentation, as well as other administrative duties.
  • Ensuring safe working conditions, while communicating project safety requirements per regulations.
  • Familiar with codes, local project regulations, construction practices, and the latest equipment functions.

Responsibilities include positioning the Firm to cultivate opportunities, requests for proposals, and direct pursuits with clients to remain competitive in the market and enhance our current market practice. It also includes collaborating to develop a strategic marketing plan that guides the market to consistently meet and exceed the Firm’s established financial goals. The role includes developing and growing your professional network and capabilities to ensure maximum effectiveness and enhancement of client satisfaction. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Lead business development efforts in Government market sectors, and other sectors based on past and current relationships and network.
  • Develop standard letter proposals and work with the Marketing team to develop RFQ/P proposal responses for various project pursuits. Lead and provide direction for interview presentations.
  • Identify annual sales capture within market sector and set annual sales goals for market.
  • Assist in definition of marketing plan for Government sector including project pursuits, advancing expertise, strengthening reputation in sector, and defining advertisements / sponsorships / PR opportunities within sector.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with City and County jurisdictions, State agencies, municipalities, and other clients and organizations.
  • Identify potential community engagement opportunities and methods to enhance your profile in the community.
  • Update marketing contacts weekly and attend BD meetings and others as required.
  • Participate in speaking engagements and written articles that promote the Firm as an industry expert in market sector.
  • Mentor/develop other team members in business development roles and actives.
  • Attend industry/market sector conferences for professional growth, networking, and promotion of our services.

Project Manager

  • Collaborate with Principal on fee proposals, fee negotiations and project team selection
  • Assist in the development of fees based on task, market, staffing and unit cost

Architectural Designer

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as Project Designer on varying scales and project typologies.
  • Attend/Lead meetings to set goals and objectives for the project(s).
  • Set project team expectations in Programming, Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, and assist in Construction Documentation and Construction Administration.
  • Perform the coordination efforts with project team in creation of architectural design documents.

  • Plan for completion of IDP process preferred, if not licensed.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience postgraduate
  • LEED GA or AP, or LFA accreditation a plus.
  • Ability to show creative and technical ability in designing and detailing complex solutions.
  • Able to sketch and draw comfortably freehand and using technology.

Interior Designer

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Revit.
  • Proficient the Adobe Create Suite – Photoshop and InDesign.

Electrical Engineer

Structural Engineer

Landscape Architect

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and design open spaces including both natural and built environments
  • Develop supporting design documentation
  • Work closely with the project team’s architectural designers, project managers, project coordinators and engineers to coordinate all proposed elements with the development of the site
  • Oversee/Participate in the design of a variety of projects
  • In collaboration with project manager, establish landscape requirements from client

Construction Administrator

This position is responsible to assist the project teams through the development of construction documents through checking quality and code compliance and to lead the project team through the Construction Administration phase of work. This position assists Project Managers in the construction administration responsibilities of large and complex projects.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Project Manager in review of pay applications, change proposals, change orders.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to maintain track of all project construction schedule and ensure compliance to all timeframe and maintain regular visits to construction sites.
  • Monitor an effective construction quality control program and ensure compliance to all construction regulations and prepare required documents and establish quality of all construction work for all projects.
  • Assist contractors to evaluate all contract documents and prepare reports for any deficiencies in projects and ensure adherence to all design and construction regulations.
  • Document all construction activities and evaluate progress of all projects and monitor all requests and participate in various construction progress meetings and maintain records for all construction procedures.
  • Assist with management of all project submittals and track review process through the office to insure timely response/return to the contractor. This includes review of submittals, appropriate to knowledge of project requirements, and timely return.
  • Manage all RFI’s and track process through the office to insure timely response/return to the contractor. This includes review of RFI response, prior to return, to ensure response is appropriate and complete.
  • Reviews Construction documents for quality with applicable codes prior to release.
  • Review documents to determine conformance with established Firm practices and standards.
  • Performs on-site inspections of building construction to ensure compliance with current structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical codes; verifies construction is according to approved plans. Coordinate site visits for various disciplines.
  • Communicate construction progress back to design team.
  • Communicate project issues or questions back to design team for their assistance in issue resolution.
  • Participate in in-house quality review process to ensure bidding documents are complete and coordinated as well as to improve familiarity with the project.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in architectural profession preferred or;
  • Ten plus years’ experience in architectural profession with experience in Code Compliance, Construction Administration and Quality Document Review.
  • A well-rounded knowledge of architecture profession and workflow.
  • Knowledge of current construction techniques, materials, and practices used by the construction industry, and the ability to read, interpret and apply other applicable codes and pertinent standards, ordinances, and regulations.
  • REVIT experience/AutoCad software knowledge preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, PlanGride, ProCore, etc.

POSITION LOCATION:

This is a full time position located in our Kalamazoo office e; however, may require work in both Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids offices. Travel to project sites is expected and required.

Proposals + Marketing Coordinator

TowerPinkster is seeking a talented Proposals + Marketing Coordinator to join our team! As an integral part of our marketing group, the Proposals + Marketing Coordinator is responsible for driving forward business development initiatives through the coordination and development of RFP responses, qualifications packages, and managing the interview process. The Proposals + Marketing Coordinator will have the opportunity to learn about the AEC industry and become involved in a variety of marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have an eye for details, excellent communications skills, industry experience, be proactive and resourceful, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Position Responsibilities

  • Works directly with technical staff, consultants, and market sector leaders throughout the RFP process to build winning and dynamic proposals. This includes scheduling and leading kick-off meetings, setting schedules, developing and assembling the RPF response, writing content, and printing/shipping coordination.
  • Develops qualifications packets.
  • Collaborates with internal experts and partners to develop project interview strategy.
  • Coordinates interview prep sessions and provides feedback to technical staff on best practices.
  • Develops PowerPoint presentations and supporting collateral for interviews.
  • Actively seeks new ways to connect with clients and improve the interview process.
  • Will have an active role in implementing a new digital asset management system.
  • Update and maintain project information, master templates, resumes, and other firm content.
  • Maintains database of RFP wins/losses.
