Kalamazoo Valley Community College

Culinary and Allied Health Building

Kalamazoo, Michigan // 75,000 sq. ft.

The Culinary and Allied Health Building delivers education about the interconnection of the college’s Food and Health Studies programs. The Culinary Arts program focuses on the impact healthy food can have on a community. The food service areas feature a community kitchen for outreach classes, as well as a tiered classroom for large-scale demonstration cooking seminars. Additionally, a health-focused café and restaurant space are featured on the main level.

The Allied Health programs make use of cutting-edge Skills Labs and Simulation Rooms which create real-world, hands-on situations for students studying respiratory care, nursing, and emergency medical training. Set up into a series of flexible group-based education rooms with adjacent observation spaces allows for students to both watch and participate in treatment situations.
