Godfrey-Lee Public Schools

Middle School/High School Restoration and Expansion

Wyoming, Michigan // 140,584 sq. ft.

Situated on a compact urban site, the junior-senior high school building posed distinct challenges for the design team, limiting opportunities for expanding its footprint. Despite this, the team managed to renovate over 110,584 square feet of the building, introducing a new main entry and office to enhance accessibility and safety for all occupants. The former band room was repurposed into a health suite, serving both students and the broader community.

The expanded Lee Junior-Senior High School now boasts an additional 30,000 square feet of updated, 21st-century learning spaces, including state-of-the-art classrooms, a modernized media center, flexible areas, and a brand-new band room. Notably, the media center features a distinct community entrance with controlled access during school hours, ensuring a seamless and secure learning environment for students.
