Holland Charter Township

Recognizing the potential to revitalize a former Younker’s department store, Holland Charter Township worked with TowerPinkster to repurpose the existing building into a new multifunctional recreational center to accommodate activities for a diverse range of people. Interior walls were demolished, and 75,580 square feet of building area was renovated to create room for a fitness center, gymnasium space for basketball and pickleball, turf space, offices, and white box lease space. The mezzanine level has an indoor track to utilize the space better for multiple functions. The center also includes multipurpose rooms that can double as community gathering spaces and group fitness rooms. Enhancements were made to bring a more welcoming environment to the site, including a 4,500-square-foot patio/plaza area, an updated main entry, and parking and crosswalk improvements.
