Working with TowerPinkster, the firm aimed to expand its presence in Kalamazoo while consolidating its office and eDiscovery Center under one roof. Inspired by the firm’s branding, TowerPinkster designed the nearly 14,000 square-foot seventh-floor office space to support Warner’s core principles and dedicated staff through modern aesthetics, intelligent space planning, and attention to detail.

As one of Michigan’s largest law firms, Warner Norcross + Judd recognized that each office should respond to the individual community in which the office resides. With an emphasis on hosting clients and community events, the public lobby is centered around the elevator core, giving direct access to a rooftop patio for respite and entertaining. The floor plan, surrounded in glass for views of downtown and abundant natural light, offers a mix of open workspace, twenty glass-fronted private offices, and a home for the firm’s renowned eDiscovery team. Special attention was paid to sound attenuation and acoustic separation between public and private spaces and adjacent offices. The material palette balances approachability and community with tailored elements that reflect the firm’s long-standing reputation. Natural stone and dark woods are mixed with angular patterns, varied textures, and playful moments of color and contrast. Walking offices with treadmill desks, collaborative enclaves, hoteling offices, and a quality-of-life room offer the Kalamazoo staff and visiting attorneys the amenities of a much bigger footprint without compromising connection to their fellow building tenants and the Kalamazoo community.
