TowerPinkster team members joined stakeholders from Greenleaf Hospitality Group, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo Wings, and other community members Friday, April 24, for an exciting milestone in the construction of the new Kalamazoo Event Center.

At a Topping Out Ceremony Friday, the final beam was placed on the 450,000-square-foot event center that will be home to the WMU Hockey and Basketball teams. The event center is expected to generate more than $54 million in annual economic impact regionally and to host more than 230 events, shows, concerts, and community sporting events annually.

The event center is expected to open in spring 2027.
