New Scholarship Honors the Life and Legacy of Gary Johnson

TowerPinkster is pleased to announce an endowed scholarship to honor the lives and legacy of our late team member Gary Johnson and his wife, Laura. The Johnson Memorial Scholarship will be a catalyst for students attending the University of Detroit-Mercy’s School of Architecture (Gary’s alma matter) while honoring the memory of the Johnson family and supporting passionate students of the architecture industry.

Gary was a beloved member of the TowerPinkster team for over 25 years. As an architectural specification writer, he impacted many, many TowerPinkster projects and left his mark on communities across Michigan. Gary is remembered for his love of classic cars, golf, and for having a smile to share with everyone.

The criteria for the Johnson Memorial Scholarship is listed below:

University of Detroit-Mercy School of Architecture – Gary and Laura Johnson Memorial Scholarship

  • Awarded to a student entering their sophomore year in the School of Architecture with a GPA of 3.0 or greater.
  • Preference is given to students from a group underrepresented in the field of architecture, i.e. a female or minority students as identified by the University’s Admissions and Financial Aid staff.
