TowerPinkster Announces Two New Principals

TowerPinkster, an employee-owned and multi-discipline design firm, today announced the appointment of two new firm principals, Marika Hawes-Ruhrup, PE, and Shawn Parshall, AIA. Together, Hawes-Ruhrup and Parshall bring more than 40 years’ combined experience to their roles. These promotions mark the culmination of another successful year of growth for the firm which included being named AIA Michigan’s 2022 Firm of the Year and opening a new office location in Grand Haven, MI.

MARIKA HAWES-RUHRUP, PE, BCxP, LEED AP BD+C

Marika Hawes-Ruhrup first joined TowerPinkster in 2015 as Senior Mechanical Engineer. She serves as a senior mechanical engineer as well as a project manager for many of the firm’s most high-profile projects. Her experience is focused on industrial, higher education, and government project work. Marika’s expertise includes low energy design allowing her to complete numerous LEED-certified projects. Marika holds degrees from the University of Michigan, Hope College, and Oakland University.

SHAWN PARSHALL, AIA, NCARB, CDT, CPTED, LEED AP

Shawn Parshall joined TowerPinkster in 2005 and serves as a Director of K-12 Education. In his role, Shawn works with K-12 clients throughout the region to develop and pass bond campaigns, design new school facilities, and plan for the future. Shawn’s experience and expertise also includes work within the healthcare and higher education markets for several high-profile clients. Shawn holds a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan.
