Big changes are happening along the Grand River! The Grand Rapids Public Museum is undergoing a major transformation, and we’re excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at the progress.

This renewal boosts floodplain resilience, improves campus flow, and reconnects the site to the river, making it a more accessible and inclusive community destination.

We partnered with Lord Cultural Resources and VIRIDIS Design Group for the project, and the redesign focuses on universal access, water-smart design, and community-centered placemaking. Sustainable features, such as rainwater harvesting, green roofs, native plantings, and permeable surfaces, turn the campus into a resilient landmark and learning resource.
